| The coffee plant is the main character of the stories that follow true stories in which people, enamored of the land and this crop, work tirelessly to produce the shiny, red berries that the plant yields only a few times a year. These are tales of the incredible path that many people choose to take in their lives, but that few others really understand.
All of the characters in these coffee stories share a common element, and it has inspired the name of my book: Passion. Everyone from those who plant the seeds on just the right day; those who carefully pick only the beans that are ready for harvest; those who thresh each bean to remove the skin after a slow and exacting drying process; those who prepare meals and refreshments for the farmhands; to the executives of coffee companies has a passion for their work, the land, and, most of all, coffee.
